Ar Google ar Elastic Search?

Iš pradžių, ir ypač, dėl tų laikraščių, kurie buvo publikuojami dažnai, mes sukūrėme specialias “Google” paieškos formas, kurios apribojo paiešką tik tam tikrais leidimo metais. Vėliau sustojome teikti tas “Google” paieškos formas, nes suvokėme, kad “Google” neindeksuoja visus mūsų laikraščių įkeltus numerius.

Savo svetainėje įdiegėme pasirinktinę “Elastic Search” versiją, kurioje patys kontroliuojame paieškos procesą, ir galėjome patikrinti, kad visi įkelti laikraščių numeriai buvo įtraukti į indeksą.

Naudojant “Elastic Search” programą galima apriboti paiešką vienu ar keliais parinktais metų tarpsniais. Elastinė paieška turi dar vieną privalumą: vienu metu paieškai galima parinkti du ar daugiau laikraščių.

At first, and especially for those newspapers that were published frequently, we set up custom Google Search forms, where the search was limited to a particular year of publication. Later, we abandoned this idea, because we found out that Google was not indexing all uploaded issues.

We implemented a custom version of Elastic Search for our site, and because we controlled the search process, we made sure that all uploaded newspapers issues were included in the index. The Elastic Search form also allows one to limit the search to one year or to a range of years. Elastic search has another advantage: you can choose two or more newspapers at the same time for your search.
